First Catch

I only had one photo from this day, sent to me by the scout master.  I love that he was so thoughtful and sent the photo since I was not at the actual event.   David and his troop learned how to make their own flies and practiced fly fishing. David was one of the lucky few who actually caught a fish that day.

I used a kit that was on sale at Sweet Shoppe Designs, probably no longer on sale but maybe will be again soon and even if it is not, i think the price is really nice and I love the little embellishments in the kit.  It is called By The Seaside: Miscellany, by Zoe Pearn.  I just bought the little add on kit, there is a bigger kit that goes with it that has a lot of papers and I may have to go back and get that one as well.  It has 2 sets of alphabet embellishments in denim and canvas, and a lot of really pretty papers.
I love the little pinwheels and the doilies.  very cute!
here is a link if you want to check it out.
There is a lot of great content at this site and I  have gotten a few notices on sales so check it often. I think I got the kit on sale for $0.99!
Thanks for stopping by!

A pretty mess

This page is pretty messy.  Sequins and flowers everywhere!  And that is just what my dinning room table looked like after our crafty time,  so I figured it was perfect!
I found a fun kit by Lauren Grier at Sweet shoppe Design.  It is called #happy and it has so many fun happy elements!

Here is my sketch.  Its a fun one when you have a lot of photos.  Think of the other possibilities besides flowers.   Have a beach page to do? use some waves or fishies instead of sequins and flowers. Or leaves for a fall page, snowflakes for a winter page, you get the idea.

Here is the #happy kit I used.  You can get it here.
It was on sale a while ago for $4.79 but I am not sure how long that sale is on.  Regular price is $7.99 which I think is still a good deal, there are 18 papers and a ton of embellishments.  Perfect for my Happy little daughter!

Lucky Day

Hello everyone.  I have a cute page today of  my son Zachary.  He found a four leaf clover while playing in the yard and he was just so happy.  He came running into the house shouting "MOM, MOM!" and I was worried something bad happened but his smile assured me this was not the case.  We pressed the clover in a book and will check it in a few weeks, maybe we will make it into a book mark.

Here is the sketch. My page was super simple because it was a template from My Digital Studio, but since that is no longer available I created a simple sketch page for you to follow.

Step by step ~ progressive page!

This is a fun way to show a progression of photos.  Here is my little Zachary working on a school project.  He loved making his penguin.  I let him do it all by himself.  This was an assignment in his preschool class.  We were given a recipe for homemade dough and were supposed to create an arctic animal.  When I first learned of this assignment I thought it was a little crazy for preschoolers but he had a lot of fun and I think it looked really good.

Here is the sketch.  I hope you have fun with it.  you can show a step by step of a daily routine, or the making of a favorite recipe. There are so many possibilities.

First Recital ~ Fun chalkboard frames

Hello everyone.  I found a fun download of frames that I just had to have.  I think chalkboard elements are so fun, and I know they have been around for a while but I seem to be drawn to them all the time.  Maybe its because I have three children and they are fun for kid pages.  This collection of frames was part of a download called Di's Doodling Frames #1.     There are 75 frames in all.  Chalkboard, cardboard, grid paper and stamps.  Really fun! They have 6 pages for inspiration too.   I had a lot of photos of Jillian's first recital so I made a two page spread this time.

An easy way to make your page into a two-page spread is to "insert a duplicate page".  You can see this option at the top editing bar in both MDS and MMS.  You can insert a mirrored page as I did for my pages, or you can insert an exact duplicate.  Then you can change the pictures in the frames and move things around as you like. This way you don't have to recreate your embellishments and all the backgrounds.

Here is the sketch...
I hope you find some digi inspiration today.  If you would like to share what you did with this sketch you can attach a link in the comments section or add your page to my Facebook page.

Here is the frame collection.
It was $3.99

I thought this was an interesting way to use the frames.  You could print them out onto paper and use them in fun ways like art journaling or cards.  I see some framed cards in my near future!

Here are the Freebies of the Week over at My Memories.  This first one is called Vintage Spring and has 3 papers and 3 page elements.
Click here to get this one.

The second freebie is a set of quick pages called Train Tracks, great for a little kid pages.
Click here to get this one.

As I have been looking at places for downloads I  have come across quite a few sites that I like and I also found some freebies this week that I thought I would share...
I think this alphabet is super cute!  It is craft paper and Doilies! great for page titles.
I went in search of freebies because I wanted to practice adding digital content to both MDS and MMS, but I didn't want to spend money in case I couldn't do it.  Unfortunately is was easy so now I started to spend money again :)

This one is called Pollyanna Alpha and you can get it here.

I also discovered a digital designer that I like and she has a Facebook page and website called Sahlin Studio.  The designer is Krista Sahlin.  She has some freebies for liking her site and for signing up for her newsletter and just some smaller random freebies that are really cute. https://www.facebook.com/SahlinStudio/timeline
Her site says Modern, Classic, Vintage scrapbook designs and I really like a lot of the kits.  And the prices are good! And if you are a DISNEY fan, and really who isn't, she has a whole line called project Mouse with so many great digital images! even kits for the different places like tomorrow land and the animal kingdom and more.  She also does pocket card for those of you doing Project Life.  Her site is here.

Trim the Tree ~ sketch #7

Christmas in July!
Our Christmas tree is not perfect, that if true.  But, it is put up with lots of love and fun, and that is what its all about. David puts up the star since he is the oldest and even on a chair Zachary still can't reach the top. Jillian loves the lights, so she gets them tangled, I mean ready for me to place on the tree.  Zachary looks through the boxes for the silliest of the decorations, or the ones that make noise.  Fun.

Here is the sketch.
This is a really great sketch that is suited to just about any theme you have.  I hope that you give it a try.  If you do, please feel free to share it on my Facebook Page, I would love to see what you have done with it! https://www.facebook.com/bethspapercuts

CLean and Simple ~ sketch # 6

This is the plainest page I think I have ever made, but you know what? I still like it.  It is carefree like Jillian on the tire swing.  The sun had come out to warm up the early spring air and we headed over to the park.  There were not many people out yet but Jillian had fun anyway.  She played on that tire swing for quite a while and I had the impression that there was some sort of story brewing in her head.  You never know with Jillian, she has quite an imagination.  maybe she was a fairy fling through the air?  a unicorn? only she knows.

Here is the sketch.  You don't have to keep it as plain as I did.  Maybe add a colored background or more embellishments? or see what you think of a less is more approach on this one.

Always Expect Something Amazing!

Hello Everyone. I have a fun little page to share today.  Sometimes you just have one picture to scrap and maybe its a bit basic or not ever super great but you want to remember the moment anyway.  In my photo Jillian is not even looking at the camera and the building and sidewalk are sort of ugly, but Jillian was really happy that the peacock walked up to her.  This was the only photo that worked, so even though it is not the best, I wanted to make it into a page for her scrapbook.  I decided to keep it simple with some fun doodle hearts and sequins, a doodle frame around the page, it sort of looks like something Jillian would make actually.
I found some really fun doodle elements at THIS SITE. and HERE.   The sequin scatter and hearts are from #happy.

Here is the sketch...

I hope you will find some inspiration from my page.  I would love to see one of your pages.  You can share on my Facebook page.
